Anyone know this 968 track special?
Discussion
I'm really keen on getting a track day special and just spotted this for sale.

Has anyone come across the car or dealer and views on whether it would be a good choice for a pure track tool, used sparingly on around 10 track days a year. To date my track experience is moderate in my 997 GTS DD and my Ferrari 308GTB. I appreciate for similar money I can get more modern similar powered (but FWD) track biased cars but really want the analogue feel.
Thanks, CMD

I do not know the car but it seems spot-on for your requirements. Very nice indeed. I am also currently looking for something analogue and focused for proper circuits like Spa a few times each season. I spotted this, no affiliation, which also seems good fun and value. Decisions, decisions..... Will you mainly be tracking at UK circuits ?http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Thanks for the input guys.
Sparta6, the 928 is interesting - wonder how a well prep'd car handles? The attraction of the 968 to me is based on all the good comments I read about the poise of the model's chassis.
Blade7, thanks for the heads up on EMC, all have a chat with them - will also be contacting the dealer advertising the 968 to get some more info.
BTW, the plan is mainly UK trackdays.

CMD - a properly set-up 928 goes something like this. You will spot a 360 CH at about 3.20.
As Bernard Fosker once advised me at 15 years of age "There is no substitute for Cubic Capacity"

Blimey prices must have risen. 27K and not even an original CS
Not bothered if it may had a big bang in the past or not?
If it was a 1993 911, most would be looking under the bonnet for the build sticker and moving on if it wasnt there.
A good idea if one had been well smacked about or not (and if not on the register) was to check that the build sticker for the 968 was still stuck to the rear floor pan located near the front and left of the spare wheel.....
The guy who bought my dear old CS added cage, track focused suspension added stickers and all etc etc, yet kept the basic originality like build stickers. This one hasn't got one as far as I can tell. At 15K fair enough not to worry, but at 27K?
Of course they could just have peeled it off before a respray, but that in a way would make little sense as even 10 years ago, peeps were checking that the sticker was there, original CS or not.

I think this one may be a better bet. Nice track mods. Is a genuine sport/CS. Plus you have £10k up your sleeve to spend on trackdays etc.........

Wow, even these have been influenced by the recent Porsche tax!
If you want an out-an-out track day car, i'd find it difficult to look past something like an E36 M3, which does everyhing the 968 does for half the price.
With nearly 100 bhp more I'd say an M3 would eat up a 968.If you want an out-an-out track day car, i'd find it difficult to look past something like an E36 M3, which does everyhing the 968 does for half the price.
