Ben Demetriou beat a large field, including several M3s, at Donington on Saturday to win the first 750mc 2 hour "Club Enduro" race.

An excellent performance having qualified 6th. A 944 finished 8th, too, so a good day for the transaxle cars.

Yes, excellent result by Ben. Transaxle Porsches are ideal for endurance racing because of the big fuel tank and efficient 4-pot. Not the fastest, but great handling, reliable and spend less time stationary. Interestingly, Ben's lap times were slower than the 968s in AMOC, and if Luke had done that race in his 944S we could have filled the top 4 placings! There are some quick drivers in some nice transaxle Porsches these days. It's brilliant! Fit a 968 engine in your 924 and come join the fun Andy!

Lovely to see that the 968 is still well represented and winning! Well done Ben

I'd love too, there is already a 968 engined 924S in 750 Roadsports and I'd expect to see it out in the Enduro series this year, too. It's an expensive option, though, and not many 968 lumps about. I will almost certainly just get a replacement 2.5 944 engine for my 924S and I hope to join in later in the year. My car iwas actually reasonably competitive at Donington in Roadsports Class C last year and so I think it would go ok in both Roadsports and Club Enduro in the lower power to weight classes.

Roadsports and Club Enduro are probably the best series to race a 924S or 2.5 litre 944 because the power to weight classes suit them and they handle so well.

Podium Prep runs 3 cars in 750mc and it'd be good to race with them, but there are also 3 of us in AMOC Intermarque champs too, and unfortunately I can't afford to do both. Might do a 750 enduro race as a 2 car team later in the year if funds allow. The 924 with '68 engine did Intermarue last year too. Pretty car.

Was a good race and great to see Ben and Jonathon competitive, bare in mind they were in Class B against the BMs in Class A......
