944S2 Brake pad selection.
Discussion
I have a 1990 944S2 and wish to tighten up braking. I have ordered a set of Goodridge lines and wish to replace the pads, which should I go for?
It's going to be fast/twisty road use, maybe the odd track day.
The discs are nearly new so I am not looking to ditch them at this stage.
Thanks in advance.

I'm going to chime in here with my opinions on pads...
I've used the PFC08's and these have lasted well, not shown any fade and have excellent modulation from cold and hot. They do seem to be reasonably heavy on rotor wear though and the like any good pad, the dust is evil! Before these I had Pagid RS4-2's on the front which I found a little on the wooden side if I'm honest and are more noisy than the PFC's. These are now on the back of the car though where they seem to work well.
I'm also a big fan of both the Ferodo DS2500 and DS3000 pads: DS2500 are perfect for a road/occasional track car and I've always struggled to cook them. I've not used the Mintex pads, but people I've spoken to who've used both have always preferred the Ferodo's. DS3000 are a great pad for track and offer exceptional bite even from cold as they have a very high C-F right up to their upper temperature limit. The only drawback is they don't last as long as some of the other full race pads like PFCs or Pagid's.
For a fast road/occasional track car the DS2500 are the best compromise in my experience/opinion.
ETA: I've bought some Wilwood Polymatrix B race pads to try on my currently-under-assembly new brake set up though, so we'll see how they fair up!..

Just an update I have those Mintex pads on my Megane R26, they work fine from cold with just a touch of squeal on gentle braking sometimes. TBH they seem a lot like standard Porsche pads to me, the RS Megane has enormous brakes about halfway between 968 M040/928 S4 and the big blacks ala 928 GTS/993tt, they don't feel like uber head butting the screen type pads to me whereas for some reason Renault put garbage Brembo pads in those cars with a race spec Brembo caliper. No idea what they would be like in a Porsche but TBH I don't think I would even bother trying them, the S2 has tiny pads for its performance and really needs the best pads possible if taking the car on track (because the pads are so small). If not going on track the standard pads are fine.

Agreed. I had PFC08s on my 968 briefly for road use and maybe two trackdays per year. I only have the one set of wheels though - Cup 2s in excellent condition. At least, they were in excellent condition until I used the PFC08s. The quantity of dust produced was huge and it bonded immovably to the wheels. Eventually I had to have the wheels refurbed which made for an expensive set of brake pads. Eventually I went back to standard pads and avoided Bedford Autodrome which is particularly hard on brakes.
