Hi guys, I have just been offered a white over red two tone 924 turbo at a customer's house. It's in a bit of a state, but apparently starts and moves. Needs a light restoration to say the least, but may be worth saving! Does anyone know anything about what this edition is called and roughly what are they worth? Many thanks, Lee

Might be better off heading over to the PCGB or TIPEC 924/944 forums on this.

Sounds like a standard colour - lots were two tone

If it's in a poor state, it will likely cost more to restore that it's worth (unless you can DIY & cost your time as free).

I'm sure someone will want to save it though

Don't bother. If you fancy one wait for an immaculate really good example and pay top money, that's the cheapest way!

Bit extreme since we don't know how good the OP's mechanic skills are, if his best mate runs a bodyshop, if his dad works at Porsche etc .

I'd assume that a bit of welding an paint is required on nearly every 80s car once you start digging deeper.

Using your logic of buying the most expensive you could end up in a far worse position paying over the odds for a freshly resprayed car that has rust coming back through within a few months..

There have been a couple of really original low mileage examples for sale recently, that's what I meant.
Restoring a poor one is not viable as they can be a bit of a money pit.
