Hope the weather is good - not so much fun picking up a new car when it's chucking it down.

Brave to buy without a test drive but I am sure you will love it - most of us who have one do.

Be sure to check it over very carefully before driving it away.

Have fun and we look forward to seeing a pic

Hope you do like it because I have done exactly the same - ordered without driving one! Mine is a cancelled order for December delivery.

Please post some pictures when you get it.

interested to see what you think about this,? back in UK next week to pick up mine, drove one last month, lots of little changes that imv make it a completely different car from a driving perspective...

I picked the car 2 days ago in non stop rain. It is amazing to drive. Very quiet inside with excellent sound proofing. Diesel Engine does not sound like Diesels in other similar cars. Unbelievably lovely to drive. In sports mode it reminds me of 911 - people may disagree. Will post photos later.

One little issue - on the evening I picked up the car, both the head lamps developed lot of condensation which I didn't expected. However it cleared the next day. Informed the dealer who said it is common and as long as it clears there is no issue! will keep an eye.

Congrats. Did you own a previous Gen?

Headlight condensation prob because you drove it out the warm dealership, into suddenly, much colder air. Be fine day to day.

Enjoy

I had 1st Generation Cayenne many moons ago, which was nice to drive but nothing like this one. I cant compare it with any newer model as I never drove one. It would be good to hear from some one who has driven the facelift model and previous model.

The autocar review of the turbo suggested that, reckoned it was on a different level to the RR sport ,dynamically.

Would be really interested to hear any thoughts on the facelift diesel versus the pre facelift diesel?

We moved from 2012 Cayenne to Macan and tempted to move back to the facelift Cayenne. Cosmetically the facelift not a huge change so interested to learn of dynamics of spec enhancements.

I had 2 x 3.0D Cayenne's still have a LHD one in EU. Did 25k miles in 4.2D in just over a year, swooped it for a 3.0 Maccan, big mistake, ordered a new 4.2 Cayenne, black with red trim, should collect it next week. Had a short go in face lift Turbo last month,it drove like a completely new car. The RRS with the just the 3.0D, in Auto Bi trim comes in at 12k more than the 4.2D Cayenne....

I didn't gel with the pre facelift turbo ,but I wanted to,need to try this .
Why didn't you like the Macan vs the cayenne ?

To be fair I have never had a Petrol Turbo Cayenne, Just the D ones, 2 main things on the Macan, well at least for me. 1st the room, can not get a mountain bike in the back, along with zero room for 4 adults, other than a short trip. 2nd, the PDK box with the 3.0d for some reason has low speed "pick up", the Tip box in Cayenne's with the D engines is perfect.....also the ride is much more firm in the Macan, even when in comfort mode, But for someone with a coupe of young kids, as a DD driver, the car would be perfect...

Mine's being built today, apparently. Delivery Jan 1 all things being equal. Another one ploughing in without a test, but can't be much different from the current one, which has been perfect over the last 40k miles. Waiting to see how caned I get on the trade in.

Is January delivery your choice? I only ask because mine is being built 28th or 29th of November and I was told it should be here two weeks later.

Yes, prefer a 2015 registration date. Have private plate but in a few years time it will make a small difference come resale. Possibly..

Resurrecting an old thread. In the market for a Cayenne 4.2 and keen to hear from those that had pre and post facelift or have driven both extensively, much difference other than cosmetics?

Thanks
