Definitely not! Rennlist is full of gobste American imbeciles who lead with their mouths and their ignorance. There is a lot of useful information there but it is mired in the ste which massively outweighs it.
TIPEC & PCGB both have their strengths and weaknesses and Id suggest joining both equally.
I favour (slightly) the PCGB forum but I am certainly not a fan of the club, having wasted many years membership fees with them...

I had over 950 posts on the PCGB 944 forum before I gave up there, there's a few guys posting that aren't 911 wanabee owners and know what they're talking about, but there's still plenty of rehashed misinformation peddled as fact. I often wondered why one particular trader of parts was allowed to advertise their used stuff on the 944 forum ?

You would if you hadn't spent good Turbo money doing up an S2 .
Or, just spent some pocket money doing up the Lux, instead of getting suckered in to an S2 that "won't need much doing over the next few years". Got to say, after over ten years I still get a buzz every time I see it parked on the drive. That, alone, makes owning one worthwhile.
So, I've been putting a few miles on the S2 and feel I'm getting to know the old beast a little - and discover a few bits and pieces that need fixing / replacing So, on this basis where is the best place to buy spares? I need a couple of interior trim items and also some hatch pins and poss a new hatch seal. I found frazerpart.com online, any good? I guess ebay might be a good shout as well.
I've also noticed that the back box needs attention (the weld where the tail section meets the rear silencer is blowing). It appears to be the original system on the car, so I'm thinking I'll get it welded up in the first instance before I go and splash out on anything new - any thoughts?

Have you tried the OPC Parts Dept or Euro Car Parts?I've also noticed that the back box needs attention (the weld where the tail section meets the rear silencer is blowing). ECP can source quality bits for our old 944's but you have to be careful as theire parts invetory for them isn't great, so they have a habit of supplying the wrong parts. Therefore I'd recommend going in to see them armed with Porsche part numbers so they can cross reference them...

Always, always, check with Porsche first. If nothing else, you'll at least have the Porche price to compare with others!
Non-Porsche parts, such as ignition parts, might be cheaper elsewhere as Porsche just buy them in and add a mark-up.
For things like interior trim, they are often massively cheaper than companies selling at a huge mark-up. I've seen used tat on ebay for way more than the new price from a main dealer....
There's a long list of suppliers on the PCGB 944 forum. There's also a list of alternate parts from other cars that's worth looking at: the S2 dizzy cap is the same as a Volvo part, for instance, and a lot cheaper if you buy the Volvo one.
