944 2.7 suspension

Hi

Gradually improving the car despite now using as DD but now notice that the suspension is very harsh and crashy. Is this normal (I suspect not) or is it just shot? The dampers dont show any sign of leakage but has anyone any experience of suspension upgrades nd could recommend (a cost effective improvement)?

TBH just a standard replacement set & a geo check would make a huge difference. I did one of the TIPEC 944 also an 2.7with standard stuff from Berlyn. The play in the piston to strut was huge (6+ mm at the wheel!) & the rears looked fine but were completely shagged with zero damping ability once off, but surprisingly no leaks.
Personally if budget isn't an issue or you're going to track then go Spax or an upgrade, otherwise a good refresh & bush check will make a huge difference.

Spax looks about £400 for the four so will have a look at them thanks

Most of the bushes are probably shot, if they have not been changed within the last few years.
