I'm contemplating guzzling a few more gallons by changing the work horse/shopping cart

Currently toying with the idea of upgrading the Forester 2.5 Turbo to some thing a bit bigger and more potent
Settled on two the Range Rover Sport 5.0 Supercharged (probably an Autobiography) after the 2010 update and a Cayenne GTS/Turbo either just before or just after the 2010 new model.

Any one experience of either with reliability and bit of DIY tweaking?
What are the main dealers like vs indies?
I'm guess the RRS is easier to source parts and indies but is more likely to need them? wink

I'll chip in
I had a gen1 KN turbo for 2 years;
put 60k miles on it;
The only thing that went wrong was a window motor died - I DIY replaced it myself in a couple of hours
routine servicing only
on the last service, I had the OPC change the plastic coolant pipes (known point of weakness) - replaced at a discounted rate.

I then traded it in a couple of weeks later for a nearly new latest gen KN - shouldn't have spent the money in hindsight on getting the pipes changed !

Great car - seriously quick (kept up with my GT3 fairly easily), cheap to run, performed brilliantly in deep snow and ice in winter (with the right tyres)

I do miss it !
can't comment on RR's personally but most people I know that have had them have had trouble some where...

Turbo is the pick over the gts. Both genuinely sporty and fast AtoB, unlike the RR. I had a gen 1 as well, ultra reliable and the interior looked like it had seen 10k miles rather than 110k.

Womderful real world cars and cant wait to get another personally.
