Highest seating position, are 18 way seats really any higher
Discussion
Hi
I am very seriously considering a 718 Spyder, primarily usage will be a road trip car for my wife and I.
I have had a couple of cars with the carbon folding bucket seats and the standard sports seats but never the 18 way seats. With the bucket seats my wife always used a cushion because at 5 foot tall found the seat too low for a decent view. I was wondering if the 18 way seats are really any better or is there a lifting kit for the carbon folding buckets seat.
I would appreciate and direct experience of having had both or who could advise if there’s a lifting kit for the carbon buckets like the picture below.
Many thanks in advance.

I have 18ways in my 718s, and have driven a few GT4s with buckets on the road for reasonable distances.
I can’t say for sure but would expect the 18ways to be adjustable to a greater height, I’m quite tall so just have them all the way down.
I think that not having buckets in a GT4 is often considered to knock the value/desirability down a bit, not sure if the same would apply to a Spyder, probably not to the same extent.
Final thought is that the 18ways are extremely comfortable and good over a distance. For me a couple of hours in the buckets is starting to feel a bit uncomfortable, I have done some very long runs in my car and had no issues.
