my Cayman 981 GTS (approx 9 years my own) has upgraded itself by making the folding side mirrors automatic, something that was not an option when new, or at any time since before the last few months

so now when i lock the car the mirrors fold in, and when i unlock they fold out. previously i needed to do this manually by pressing the button before getting out of the car, and then pressing again when i got back into it

at first i thought this was a bonus, but now i'm wondering if this might be the electrics starting to play up?

That's how my 981 mirrors worked, and also now on my 991.

Go to PCM settings. Vehicle > Settings > Locking. Uncheck "Fold exterior mirrors when locking". Unless you want it to keep doing that.

My 2016 GTS occasionally fails to unfold the passenger door mirror on startup. I use the door selector button and it works fine after that for a few days.

A bit odd, and like all these intermittent faults that crop up a bit worrying, my wallets about to run off and hide before it gets emptied out by Porsche for a subsequent trivial fault like a loose connector.

Have recently got a 2015 Macan S. I find it rather strange when I lock the car, it doesn’t fold the mirrors unless I hold the lock button down. Why not just do it automatically.

There is no option in settings to do it automatically when locking.

really strange. i could have sworn that option was never there when i first bought the car

pretty sure i even asked the question on here all those years ago and couldn't find that setting in the menu when it was suggested...

sure enough though, that setting is there in the menu now, and the mirrors do indeed fold automatically
