RSS Tarmac Series Control Arm Bearings
Discussion
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue when using the RSS Tarmac series control arms.
I have these on my Cayman R and would like to refresh them this winter. The RSS arms are designed to be a rebuildable component however, the spherical bearings for the lower ball joints are not listed as a serviceable item.
They are clearly held in with a retaining collar fixed with 3 pieces of hardware. After speaking with JZM, RSS claim that if you need to replace these bearings, then you are expected to replace the complete control arm. This seems absolutely bonkers to me, on a component designed for motorsport use and is to be serviceable.
My question is, has anyone replaced these bearings or do i need to remove them, press them out and then source a suitable replacement spherical bearing? I am not spending another £1500 on 2 new arms for the sake of 2 spherical bearings.
Any feedback would be much appreciated, thank you
