One of the screws in my front number plate has come loose and when I try and do it up it just spins - is it possible to get behind it by jacking up the car and working out the problem, or does it need to go back to the dealer as this seems a bit silly for such a minor issue - if it's relevant is a 2024 GTS

Many thanks for any pointers

If you can get the plate off, try to use double-sided tape. You an leave the screw in there.

Or buy pack of self tapers off Amazon for £6 and use one that is slightly bigger.

I find that you need to heat the number plate and bend it to stay on a Porsche bumper with tape. Never had that issue with any other car before.

Amazon do number plates and also sell some very good double sided pads:

I have these on my 911 and they survived 40º temperatures in France recently.

Cheap pads are hopeless.

Having had a proper look the whole number plate hanger is loose so if the dealer ever picks up my calls it will go back to them

Just a thought - have you changed number plates for any reason e.g. fitting private plates?
Absolutely talk to the dealer if they are the original plates when you bought it.

Unfortunately most dealer plates are just fitted with self tapping screws straight into the bumper. If plates come off/on or the plates are changed the screws holes loose their grab. Worse still you find multiple holes in your lovely bumper behind the plate where the different plates have been fitted.

Thanks Simon but it is the original plate that the car came with - not too impressed with the dealer so far - 3 calls not returned
