Something a Bit Odd - Low RPM at Idle on 981
Discussion
My 981 has been acting a little strange lately.
To most people, it drives perfectly - smooth, responsive, and without any obvious issues. But when I come to a stop, the revs briefly dip to around 400rpm for a second before settling back up to the normal idle range of ~800rpm.
If I try to accelerate swiftly while it’s sitting at that low point, the car can actually stall. The load from the drivetrain is just too much for the engine at that rpm.
I've also noticed a slight hang in the revs on upshifts. The gear indicator changes as expected, but the revs hang momentarily before dropping, almost like there’s a small lag in throttle response.
Other than that, it’s silky smooth - no misfires, no vibrations. Even at 400rpm, the engine is so well balanced you wouldn’t suspect anything if you weren’t watching the tachometer closely.
I took it to Porsche for a check-up, but they couldn’t find anything wrong.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or have any suggestions?
