981 Spyder - To chip or not to chip ?
Discussion
Have enjoyed my 981 Spyder for almost 10 years now...
And nothing's persuaded me to change it - save the Spyder RS has pushed me very close...!
I've driven a SRS twice now, but can't get my head around the - cost v benefit - to swap out.
Plus I'd likely miss a manual box and be slightly frustrated with the roof.
But it showed me how easily the 981-718 platform can swallow 500hp.
So... I am wondering if anyone has any positive experiences of ECU tuning to bring my 981 to 400hp?
Any thoughts / observations welcome please?

I had my 981 S cayman tuned. I used COBB.
I ran their Stage 1 tune and PDK tune for about a year and then fitted headers and ran their Stage 2 tune. The extra power was great but the best bit for me was I installed their "Sequential" PDK tune which made the gearstick forwards for downgear and backwards for upgears.
You buy the accessport device and the maps are free, I was lucky to find an accessport on ebay cheap (IIRC paid about £200 for it), you just download the maps from their site and upload them to the device. You can also get other tuners to produce maps for you.

Don’t really need to touch 981 Spyder imo…but IF I would.. I’d just do Software tune and maybe LWFW.And nothing's persuaded me to change it - save the Spyder RS has pushed me very close...!
