Why is this GT4 not selling?

It's been listed since May and seems to have quite a low price. What's wrong with it? Is Carmine red a very unpopular colour?

Colour isn't done any favours by the terrible photos and the poor preparation, looks grubby.

The address listed on Autotrader just looks like a residential house, and all photos seem to be taken in random public places.

The seller is Joe @_Superleggera_ on here and well known authority on Alfa 4Cs having owned and dealt in them for several years.
He acts as a consignor for specialist vehicles, effectively marketing cars for sale on the owners behalf and dealing with the sale, somewhat similar to SOR. I believe this all started with the 4C and from what I've seen the business has grown.
From my conversations when I was looking to sell my 4C Joe gave me the impression he was very particular about consigning/buying and ultimately offering cars for sale. In other words I wouldn't expect to find a turd rolled in glitter and if this car appeals I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.
As to why it hasn't sold I don't know unless it is the colour? It's got all the extras (and then some), dual climate, the right seats and OPC warranty at an appealing price?

I think these are harder to shift than people assume. When I moved mine on, it was a case of accepting a middling offer (there was only one) or sticking. I imagine it doesn’t help that the seller looks like a broker, whatever their true role may be.
I suspect - though this is a guess - that quite a few people pass over these working in the assumption that they’ve had the nuts ragged off them on a track. All the more so for the clubsport cars (which I had; this isn’t one of those).

only thing that would put me off personally is the colour, having owned Carmine I could never get away with it, I also find people either like red cars or they don't.
I don't like the decals, not a fan of that look at all but easily removed and everyone will be aware of that. Miles are nice and has the seats, looks a good buy for someone.

Interesting isn't it? Plenty of people say that without the fixed bucket seats/CS pack these cars are harder to shift and worth less, but I hear what you're saying, and cars seem to be priced pretty randomly - mileage hits price but spec doesn't seem to consistently make a difference. No idea if fixed bucket/CS cars are selling faster or not of course, but my guess would be that it's the luck of the draw as to whether the right buyer comes along for your car. Also I think they are at the kind of age and price point that's very top of private sale/no finance pricing and near the bottom of what main dealers want and buyers want to finance. On topic, it's the colour (possibly combined with the decals) that puts me off this one. Better pictures would help though. Also I like silver wheels but don't think they go with Carmine Red, a darker shade/black would suit better IMO. Not a massive fan of red cars generally but there's a Guards Red one "awaiting pictures" on Autotrader so interested to see what that looks like.

Carmine is a very marmite colour on anything other than a Porsche GTS and broadly on any Porsche especially a Porsche GT. Most folks immediately associate it with a GTS so its not hard to see why this car has hung around.
Carmine GT3s are extremely hard to shift and the GT4 is no different.
The other problem is whilst the car has quite expensive extended leather additional options, the stitching belts and door pulls are in the nearest matching colour i.e. Guards red as are the brake calipers which do not really match and this has the overall effect of making the Carmine bodywork look dull.
Other lesser problems are not only the silver wheels but silver decals too which make the colour mix against the Carmine paint rather insipid.
Plain Guards red with satin platinum wheels and matching red stitching and Guards red brake calipers looks far better being brighter overall especially on a GT4 and is a free option as well. My 2016 GR 981 GT4 and my identical 2021 718 GT4

If f it’s been for sale for over 6 months and still not sold it’s down to the price. It's been listed since May and seems to have quite a low price. What's wrong with it? Is Carmine red a very unpopular colour?
If it was priced correctly it would have sold.

I agree. Looks like a nice car. The red accents are ok and I even like the boy racer stripes on the side. If it was priced correctly it would have sold.
The colour isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but the 2024 reality is that the asking price is too high for the current market. It’s surprising given the cost of new cars, but one man’s loss is another man’s opportunity. If prices drop then at least it liberates owners to move away from the OPC network and they can add a better exhaust, lightweight flywheel and ECU tune to let the engine sing.
