Just been quoted £1005 for an inspection 1 service from my local OPC. Is this about right? On one hand I am thinking it's extortionate for cabin filters, oil change and brake fluid, but on the other I am thinking it's only £500 per year. The used porsche warranty expires summer 2025 so was thinking get the OPC stamp, then in the summer decide whether to extend the warranty and stick with OPC servicing or self insure and use an independant for servicing.

Check out some other OPCs and see what they quote. Some are willing to do a deal to get the work.

Looks a touch expensive. My 718 GT4 manual first service was £800 2 years ago with quality loaner btw. Just had the 4 year major discounted cost £1650 with OPC MOT incl and new Macan GTS loaner for 2 days.

Ring a few OPCs and get a few more comparable prices as a bargaining tool then ask for 10 percent off or PGB rate. Its only half day of a job so you may not need a loaner which could drop the price further.

False economy skipping on the official Porsche warranty at the very reasonable price they offer tbh imo all it takes is a minor issue which could well cost £thousands e.g. my PADM failure on one side on my 5k mile 718 GT4 a couple of months ago and I expect the other side to go soon as well. Expensive job.

Also false economy taking to an indie for servicing the car is too new imo it will undoubtedly adversely impact value and make it harder to sell should you wish too.

Thanks folks. It's a 2017 model but will still probably extend the warranty as I have sports chrono with the PASM.

I suppose one more service will allow two years worth of warranty depending on when the warranty expires and when the service is due?

If it falls right, which it should, just, I would just pay it. The Porsche warranty is so good.

Definitely shop around on your service. Porsche don't do fixed price servicing anymore so every dealership is different.

I've just extended the warranty on my GTS. The thought of having to shell out £12k if the PDK goes makes me want to puke!
