Anyone done a track day in a 981 at Snetterton ?

Want to take my GTS 981 next year but slightly concerned about potential noise issues and not passing the DLb limit .

Also wondering how brakes will hold up too

Believe 105db so can’t see you exceeding that.
Brakes just make sure there is plenty of pad material at least 50% and the brake fluid is up to date with service and do a cool down lap to stop it boiling when parked. Leave in gear don’t us hand brake as it can warp the rear disc.

Snetterton isn't too bad on the brakes, but get the brake fluid changed to something like RBF660/SRF/Endless. As above check pad and tyre life.
Sound wise should be fine.

Some days are 102 db I think but a GTS should be no problem either way. The static noise test is at 75% revs but i suspect your car won't let you rev in neutral above about 4000rpm, so you will be way below the noise limits.

Cheers.

I've got a pdk box so assuming just quit the engine and leave in drive not park ?

Brakes AFAIK are prob 75% so should be all good in that regards plus i won't be hammering it will try leaning on the tyres a little more!

Taking your 981 GTS to Snetterton is a great idea! Just check that your exhaust is under the 105 dB(A) noise limit. For brakes, the factory setup should hold up, but consider high-temp brake fluid and track pads to prevent fade. Enjoy your track day

Any idea how i check the noise level ?

I've been thinking of getting my brakes changed to Carrera S brakes which i had on my 981 GT4.

Wouldn't bother, drop in some Pagid RSL29 or RSL1 brake pads + Castrol SRF. Job done. Ferodo DS1.11 are also good and a bit cheaper.

you'll be fine, I took my previous 981 GTS to a Snetterton track day - no noise issues whatsoever

I spent an evening at Snetterton in my previous 981 GTS - it was utterly fabulous.

I was able to carry a lot of speed through the corners, really getting to appreciate the mid-engine chassis.

And you don’t need to be heavy on the brakes at all, just gentle modulation as required.

I was previously black flagged on my first lap there in an E60 M5…..hammering up The Revette Straight in M-mode and went straight off at the end!!!!!

I got a bking of course, but went on to have a great day.

Enjoy yourself!

Noise wise you'll be fine unless you've modded something, just turn the PSE off at the static noise test. There's a mic on the main straight which may be troublesome if you're getting close to the drive by limit but they give you plenty of warning. I tripped it three times before being sent home hehe (in a much louder car)

Brakes will be fine, just make sure your fluid is fresh. There's only really one big braking point under the bridge.

Be careful if it's raining though, there's patches of new and old tarmac which have very different grip levels in the wet.

Tks .

Its standard exhaust with PSE so i'll make sure that is switched off as you say.

I just recall being at brands one evening in my 981 GT4 and getting lobbed off after 2 laps.
That being said, Brands do very low Dlb days and its a st track compared to Snetterton esp the indy circuit.
