Does anyone know how to manually engage the passenger side door lock? The car has fobs but both are currently inoperative. Locking using the key does not operate the near side door and there doesn't appear to be a way to lock it manually.

I'm not used to being this clueless but the car (2000 S) is a stop gap whilst my 911 is off the road. On the 911 everything works so I haven't come across a manual locking problem like this before.

Check the door handle outside is fully in, that would stop it locking

So, it will only lock the driver's side using the key. A new battery makes the remote LED illuminate but nothing happens other than that. You can make it lock both doors using the dash button, but opening the driver's door promptly unlocks both.

The fuel filled cap doesn't latch in any state, but this might be a separate issue. I have been meaning to lock it using the key leaving the central locker open to see if this makes it chirp, but I am not sure that this will help the diagnosis; ad I'm nonly assuming that it will work because that is what happens in the 911.

This did help actually Dave, as the handle stuck up slightly and stopped the dash butting from working which really exasperated me. Then I noticed that the window was down slightly and corrected the handle, his made the dash locking button work again which hasn't fixed anything but it reassured me that it wasn't getting worse...
