As per topic, is it worth joining PCGB these days? I used to be a member about 10 years ago on the 997 register and it was very active with meets/socials, drives, dinners etc - is it still the case or not really worth it for a 987 owner, as my servicing is going to be done out of the dealer network.

I’m not sure about the social aspect side but I have found that the discounts have more than covered the membership. Even if your servicing is outside of the network, there are discounts on different parts suppliers, specialists, driver training etc.

I've been a member of the PCGB for many years ... I've never questioned whether or not I should renew so I guess the answer for me also is, yes.

I don’t think it matters what car you have.

I’ve been a member for nearly 20 years, made life long friends and had a whole heap of fun and adventures.

For me it’s all about the social bits, I suspect you could get the same discounts elsewhere.

your car insurance might be less if you are a club member - depends on your insurer/car.

for me (993 insurance via Footman James), the price of PCGB membership is roughly equal to the discount I get on my insurance. So a no-brainer.

Been thinking about the same. More so for the social aspect and group road trips

I was a member but left as I found it too corporate. Much prefer TIPEC.

Think for many the 'value' will be through the various discounts & fuel card which is worth having

But a lot of the centrally organised member meets seem to be a variation of a parking somewhere and walking around a car park (albeit in nice settings). There are interesting events organised by a lot of the regions, but these don't seem to be subsidised. So other than the magazine not really sure where the membership fees actually go!
