Has your 987 suffered from rust at the bottom of wheel arch?

It seems that is common for the paint to be chipped away by debris kicked up by the front wheels, leaving the metal exposed.

The whole rim of the arches had surface rust. Probably should had some film on it from new.

Had them tidied up with a front end paint job. If I’d have kept the car I would have had the front end PPF’d. Although the paint was probably cheaper.

Common with 997 etc too. I keep an eye on mine and paint and cover with Dynax as required. It's generally only superficial - as long as you stay on top it.

Yes, and on the leading edge of the rear arches too, where there is a mud trap behind the arch liner. In my case it was only surface rust but then my car is fairly low mileage. If left untreated it would certainly have got worse.

This is the area. The part that's now dark grey (anti-rust wax) behind the plastic trim was previously covered in mud and was corroding happily through the paint.

The car has less than 40K miles on it, so I imagine most others will be suffering similarly by now.
