Swap my 981 Spyder for something more exotic?
Discussion
Very happy with my 981 Spyder which I’ve had a long time and done 20,000 miles. It isn’t a daily. No need to practicality either as have other things. But - at the back of my mind is that I *should* have something exotic with 8 or 12 cylinders. I’d have to have manual, mid engined. So presuming some sort of Lamborghini, Ferrari or (yes I know they’re not considered exotic but they are by me) an R8 Spyder. Would l love the change up or miss the reliability, low running costs and no depreciation of the 981 (which still feels like and event and exotic to me, in GT silver with LWBs). Budget quite low (for an exotic) as it’s a toy - say £85k.
R8 Spyder round about 2018 so gen 2 V10 without particulate filter, needs sports exhaust.
Absolutely glorious powertrain simply nothing better. Super refined when you want, feral at full chat, super car quick as well. The interior with the virtual cockpit is a real step up from the Spyder as well. It’s a very good driver interface.
Only really any good if you are under 6 foot tall. Seats don’t go back far enough for tall people. Check you fit first. Luggage space is considerably less as well so pack light.

I'd suggest test driving before you buy as you may find some options disappointing.
All are a step above but it'll depend on what you want from your car.
Leftfield first
C8 Corvette these are a bloody good drive & you'll struggle to see another, they also benefit from all being targa's
