Whilst out browsing at the weekend I came across this lovely GT4 which I am seriously considering purchasing . I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts good or bad regarding the car or perhaps even recognises it . One thing I have noticed is that the car has been PPFd and the paintwork is exceptional though I am less knowledgeable about the spec ? Thanks in advance .

If you like the spec, go for it.

Some will bemoan the lack of clubsport scaffolding and leather dash but other than that it’s a nice spec.

I’m a bit behind on current prices (sold my GT4 in December), but it looks good value to me.

Looks good value from a opc, that’s a lot of car for the money considering what these were trading out not that long ago.

Seems expensive by comparison to

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202407201...

or

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202407302...

sure, more miles, but still very low in the scheme of things, and you get Ceramics, PPF, extended leather and alcantara.

But both of those are 981’s. Not 718’s. And won’t come with 2+ years OPC warranty. Or a 4.0 engine. Etc.

Surely the original 981 version is the one to get?

The Spec states:-

Interior Leather
Leather interior package (without leather interior)

What on earth does that mean?

To evaluate the spec, I would try to download the
model year brochure and work out what has been ticked from the options list and what hasn’t.

4800 miles spread across three owners is something that might make me look a bit deeper : how long did each owner hold the car, and were they each dodging a service?

OTOH it has the bucket seats, a 4.0l engine and GT silver is a pretty nice colour.

Only you can decide whether to roll the dice.

To be fair there are plenty with comparable mileage and ownership though the servicing is something to look into
I wouldn’t buy this sort of car from anywhere but an OPC or Specialist such as RPM . Plenty of them leased then tracked which is always something I worry about . The only negative thus far is the plastic dash . Thanks everyone for your thoughts and please keep them coming

They were built to be tracked ?
But I take your point …

Cage is just 19kg of bling. This is a nice spec, ignore the “leather dash brigade”….check overrevs, service history pads and discs and tyres. Id get it OPC checked, oil and brake fuid serviced and rewarrantied.

Then crack on, they are a great car.

Mind you 981 do sound better…..

That does look great value.

It looks to have had a new set of tyres, would it be usual for a set of Cup 2 to be worn out after such a low mileage or do Porsche put new tyres on them as part of the standard prep?

If you're worried about it having been tracked then this might be something to check out. But I think a club sport would be the default choice for anyone buying one of these for lots of track use though so a few laps here or there wouldn't put me off.

The dash, door card tops, etc are plastic, but they changed the brushed aluminium strips round the dash and doors to leather. These are the parts that most people change to carbon trim. The change to leather strips is a “free” option.

It’s got the buckets, which would be a top option for your track days and also non-ceramic brakes, so less risk of a big bill.

I doubt it’s a particularly vulnerable car to crushing the driver if rolled, but others might know how valuable the cage is regarding this. My suspicion is that a good helmet and HANS device would be provide more safety benefit than a cage overall (rather than separating out different mechanisms of injury).

Have a look at the plastic dash yourself. Many people hate it. I have it on my 7.2 RS and think it fits with the ethos of the car. My Tourings have leather dash though as I tihnk it suits the model

I’ve just bought an OPC manual car for slightly less but with more miles. Price is about right I’d say.

Having a look at its MOT History I see an Advisory for a nail in one of the Tyres , they certainly didn't appear brand new when I saw the Car at the weekend but a good point nonetheless

Yellow belts & marker, red callipers, Aurum/gold wheels, satin badges, gloss handles, silver paint = clash clash clash.

Oh and FWIW, I'm one of the aforementioned "anti standard plastic-dash" brigade. If you just want a track toy, fine, but if you want the car to feel a bit special each time you sit inside, IMO do yourself a favour and find one where the owner has spent the paltry £1200 to have all that nasty cheap looking & feeling plastic covered up, it really makes the world of difference. IMO, the low miles and buckets are that car's only saving grace, if it wasn't for those it would be sat around for months, and its reflected in the price which is why it looks so cheap.

Seemingly better cars out there at the same price and or if you can stretch a few k more:
