Looking at first change of rears (pads & discs) and 2nd change of fronts (pads & discs)

OPC quote is around £1,300 for fronts and £900 rears (!)
Independent using Porsche parts takes that down to around £950 fronts, £650 rears

Googling for other non-porsche parts from Design911 seem to come from a combination of Brembo or Textar for pads and discs, or Sebro for discs and a combination of the others for pads. Which takes it down to ~£500 fronts and ~£400 rears.

Car is under warranty so I guess I should use Porsche parts at least. If I don't are there any recommendations Sebro/Brembo/Textar ? Anything else to bear in mind? The last time I used non manufacturer pads on an Audi they were horribly squeaky. Any views welcome.

Thanks

Fortunately mine is out or warranty, but if it were still under Porsche warranty I'd definitely be using OE parts only.

Are you sure you can't fit them yourself?

OE pads from a dealer are around £200, and discs—are you sure you need them? I didn't change mine until 75k, and they still had life left in them; they were just looking a bit manky.

If the car is under Porsche warranty, I would go with OE discs and pads, but have a competent independent specialist fit them.

What's your year and mileage? Unless you're tracking them or doing lots of high speed braking they should last a while.

Base 718 (982) brakes come from the 981 S so it may be worth looking at those however, if you're still under warranty, I agree with the above, fit OEM discs and pads and either do them yourself (not very difficult) or have an indie fit them but you supply the parts.

On my 997.2 Carrera, which was out of warranty, I ran Sebro discs and Textar pad; both were absolutely fine. But given that you car is under warranty I'd stick with the Porsche parrts.

Im not sure there is any need to stick with Porsche parts for brakes. They arent covered under warranty as they are are a wear and tear item AFAIK.

Lots of people fit better pads in anyway, so just get an indy to sort it for you. If, for example, your heater fan packs in, do you think Porsche are going to refuse a claim because you have different brake pads/discs fitted? Of course not!

Sebro are generally the OEM steel discs.
