Hi everyone, I bought a 981 GT4 a few months ago and believe it is due a minor service in a few thousand miles, having done around 10k miles since the previous major service in April 2023.

I phoned my local OPC and they are saying the service intervals on 981 GT4’s are every 20,000 miles or 2 years. My understanding was every 12,000 or 2 years.

The service book says every 12,000 so not sure why my OPC is telling me 20,000? You’d think they’d have been happy to take my money!

Has anyone else been told the same by their OPC?

I’m going to phone another for a second opinion as 20,000 doesn’t feel right.

Thanks!

Go off the service book than what the OPC tell you

EDIT: the non-GT cars have 20k/2yrs so possible they are getting the cars mixed up.

The GT4 also requires an annual oil change

your OPC is correct on time but GT4 is 12k miles unless you track it in which case they recommend oil changes after every 3 track days

Where does it state oil change every year for a GT4? It’s a re-tuned 911 S power unit, nothing special.

Service interval is 2 years, just had mine done.

I did change my 981 oil and spanner check every 3000 to 4000 miles which would have been rather more than three track days ... I read the service schedule and thought that I was over-servicing it ?

Is the 718 different ? Or did I miss something ??
