Mine stays on for the longest possible time, which is annoying. My Cayman has PCM 3.0 and if I had Sport Chrono (which I don't) the handbook says I could alter the time delay. Otherwise, it is far too complicated for owners to adjust, and must be entrusted to an OPC technician.

Does anyone know how it can be adjusted by us simple-minded owners?

You can change it in the PCM under Home-Car-Lighting. Can also be done in the MFD.

As I said, The Driver's Manual states "On vehicles with the Sport Chrono Plus Package, the PCM can be used to set the off-delay time". I don't have the Sport Chrono Plus Package, so when accessing INFO>OPTION via the PCM the options of Home>Car>Lighting or Individual Memory>Light>Fade-out time do not appear. Likewise, the option does not appear on the MFD.
