Manifolds, 200 cell cats, exhaust system and remap will unlock this car. Won't be far off S power from the 2.7 and just lively everywhere.

All they need is a bit more torque and a proper alignment and it's the most fun you can have with solid long term reliability on a modest budget.

Perfect for a no frills daily driver.

I'd go back to my 3.4 987.2 Cayman S in a heartbeat, in fact I am trying to buy it back biggrin

perfect timing having just swapped my 996.1 C2 for a 987.1 Cayman S.

Initial impressions are very good. Unsurprisingly its a very different place to be sat than my 996 was.

The Gen 2 version is the safest bet in terms of reliability, since they are less prone to the bore scoring that’s notorious with some earlier Mezger units.
The M9X was a Mezger engine now?

Also, you cannot let a certified 911 snob like JB near a Cayman. He will always judge the car for what it isn't.
