I'm changing the IMS on my 2004 Boxster S. I have removed the old bearing and it's a NSK 6204 DU 17. Does anyone know what the 17 signifies? I know what the numbers mean and the DU is the seal type.
I have searched this forum and many other and there is nothing online to explain it.
I have contacted NSK but they are notorious for slow responses.
Any help appreciated.

Have you tried ringing Wych Bearings, unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable.

Thanks for the reply.

I've received a reply from NSK and they said it could be an internal clearance of 17 microns but the also said it could be a number of other things but didn't specify what.

I'll give Wych a ring tomorrow.
