134,000 miles and counting - 987.2 Spyder
Discussion
134,000 miles
Fast as fk
In 13 years I have ever only seen 2 others
No issues whatsoever - not one
Serviced on the button by Cotswold Porsche
Totally Practical lol as my everyday driver
AND THANKFULLY never been a “porsche club” member
The ONLY cars I would even think about replacing it with = R8 (but scared of costs vs the way I drive and the miles I do) an Alpine 110R (but capital cost is insane and I wont be able to get my bike in it + the Spyder is just more special) and an AMG GT S …. For the looks and V8 (running costs again) ….. no other idea
In truth I have been spoilt by cheap 10/10 full fun everyday/issue-free motoring is my current normal.
Spending more on running costs put me right off anything else.

I have to ask…..
How on earth do you get a bike in a Spyder….??!!?? Pics??
But congrats on the mileage. They are brilliant things if you actually use them, these cars.

Frame + kit in the rear boot + wheels and kit in the front boot - either road or track bikes - take around 10 mins to build when you get to where you need to get to OR two bikes (one upside down in the passenger seat with the roof down lol) How on earth do you get a bike in a Spyder….??!!?? Pics??

I usually only put my track bike in the car to get to the velodrome.
It really is easy and nothing goes in the cockpit

At 120,000 miles Cotswold refreshed all the suspension for me at my request sticking with oem - the original stuff was in such good nik, I sold it all off - every year - service as per porsche schedule (although it says 2 year intervals)
Nothing has HAD to be replaced, but the 981 is a different car

Have to say great respect to you ..my 987 has not even done 16k miles in the almost 11 yrs of owning it ,in my defence have ran it alongside another Porsche's .also had a 981 Spyder for 2yrs but decided to keep the 987 ..I find getting in and out a bit of a struggle with the buckets almost 79 .I have it up for sale to test the market ,but unsure if I really want to sell as they are great cars.

Great to hear at least one of these isn't been stored away for future residuals - drive it like it was designed to be driven.
Well done that man!
Driving all the cars I have ever owned, like the world is ending, has been a life long theme - I LOVE driving - dont care about values/low miles/detailing or car clubsWell done that man!
Just driving - one of my happy places - The Spyder is just so much fun

Wow - good going!
I think I remember you buying it, as I’d not long bought mine.
One of the few cars I wish I’d have kept a bit longer than I did - keep looking at the few that are for sale…
Bought it in feb 2011 with 700 miles on the clock and over £20k off the list price lolI think I remember you buying it, as I’d not long bought mine.

I only got a measly £7k off an unregistered showroom car
