2018 718 Cayman S that has circa 37k miles on it - when put it into or taking out of park there is an audible click and a bit more of a push needed. My benchmark here is a VW DSG that I drove pre-cayman where I don't remember doing this.

Maybe I am being pedantic but is this normal for PDK's. I have been advised by some friendly folk on his forum to engage the e-brake before putting the car in park which is my usual routine, but this doesnt change the click of going into park.

Is this something to be concerned about?

If you don't already, put the selctor into neutral when you stop then apply the handbrake and then into park?

Yep that's what I usually do - one the handbrake is on I will let go of the footprint to let it roll onto the handbrake. Then it's footbrake back on to put it in park.

Today I noticed the issue is much more prevalent on a slope (I.e. my driveway) so not sure if I should be concerned?

Common with autos inc PDK. The way the parking lever locks inside the box means it can be stiff when there’s load on it (so especially on a slope). Handbrake first as above is the best method in my experience. Some cars with auto handbrakes apply it quickly enough that the load doesn’t fall to the gearbox. Also for front wheel drive cars the load of the gearbox is on a different axle to the handbrake which is perhaps why you’ve not experienced it before.
