My 2021 cayman fan sticks

It stuck 3 times and on the third occasion the Porsche centre (said they ) changed the fan

The new one is worse than the old one and regularly sticks

I’ve taken to freeing it up myself but there is a certain indignity in opening the bonnet removing the cover and freeing up the fan at the side of the road in a £70 k car

I could moan at Porsche and get another just as useless fan but I’d be more interested in a permanent solution if there is one

So does anyone have any suggestions

I'd just take it back to Porsche and get them to fix it again.

To be honest with you , I think you are entitled to do more than " moan " at Porsche . The bottom line is that the OPC have failed to rectify the problem and I think you are entitled to question whether the fan was actually replaced and if so then whether it was actually at fault .
I think you escalate the issue in the proper way or find an alternative Porsche Independent to put matters right

It's a common fault, same on the 981 also, so it isn't new.

I remember it happening on my 981, pitch black middle of winter around 7am trying to get to work, had to Google while sat in the car and ended up stripping it down under a street light and giving the fan a spin. Every winter it did the same, so I'd got it down to a fine art after a few years.

If it goes back to Porsche you have to go through the whole booking it in dealing with reception then service chap etc etc and that so boring. In the meantime the fan isn’t working and the car steaming up etc
They don’t fix it anyway

I was wondering if there was any kind of aftermarket fix

At least you get a loan car and a free tank of fuel whilst they have it for a week to fix it properly?

My 981 did this also. But for the last 2 or 3 years it's stopped so maybe it has fixed itself?!?
