Hi Folks,
Please reply via PM if it's more appt given the question I am asking.

I have been offered a very special early 911 "off-market" it will require a raid on the piggy bank and selling my manual Shark GT4 Clubsport to move on it.

I've rung a couple of OPCs and checked the usual online players (dire offers as they completely ignore spec etc) - it appears that either no-one is buying or will only buy at stupid money (online portals)

I know the market is soft, its the wrong time of year etc. just so I might recognise a decent offer when I see it I am interested in any actual recent selling experiences from this forum via PM please.

I would be grateful if this thread didn't turn into another market/futures speculation thread (please).

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

Try motorway (if you haven’t) but pre prepared to have lost £20-£25k on it if you brought got anything around £100k mark.

As a guide I’ve just paid £75k for Nov 2021 PDK car and I think trade on that is high 60s.

Manual cars don’t seem to be shifting I’ve been watching for ages and hardly any sold

In the market it either go SOR with the usual suspects, or try sell privately and make sure it’s 3-5k less than any trade.

Not a great time to be selling all around

Based on my experience I would avoid Motorway. Far too open to abuse by dodgy dealers.

Anything beginning with an 8 you should seriously consider I think pending miles and year .

Aware of someone who last month sold his 718 GT4 to OPC as part of p/x for a Spyder. Haven't spoke since the deal was done but in the initial chat the sales person told him it is likely the trade-in value would be starting with a 7.

Edited to say 718 model(!)

They must have been offsetting the profit in the spyder. The trade to retail spread with an OPC is usually £10k. So if he was offered anything £70k+ that’s generous.

If the GT4 is mint and can go straight into an OPC showroom I’d ring a few dealerships. They were actively buying stock last year but I suspect eased off now. Those online WBAC like portals are a waste of time for here cars. Give Joe at Supercar Sourcing a call. He buys and has customers waiting for certain models.

911 Virgin will give you a reasonable and fair valuation every time.

My 2021 13,500 mile GT4 PDK sold to OPC for £72,000 last month. Was offered £71,000 by a different OPC a few weeks before. A third OPC said they’d offer “about £70,000” and would call me back for specifics. Never heard from them again.

I had originally used Carwow, who ‘sold’ my car to an independent for £73,500. Dealer turned up to collect (a week later than agreed), claimed the drivers door had been repainted (it hadn’t) and the tyres were wearing unevenly (they weren’t). Wanted to “do me a favour” and take it away for £70,000. Told him to Foxtrot Oscar. Avoid the Carwow service like the plague.

For context. I almost bought an Emira in May. Lotus offered £81,000 trade in back then.

I forgot to add. OPC had my car up for £80k - it sold within a week.

Very similar to my experience of Motorway. It's too easy for dealers to bid "high" thereby giving them sole access to the car, then try to b***s**t their way to a lower price.

Happy to pm you the direct contact details of the jct600 porsche trade buyer who I sold my shark blue pdk 718 gt4 to last year. Sold a few cars to him over the years. Always found him very helpful.

Give Karl Meyer a call. He's a buyer for Porsche OPCs and has bought a couple of cars off me at very good money over the last couple of years https://www.theporschebuyer.com . He's also worked on my behalf buying a couple of cars too. Highly recommended

Just for a bit of balance, I sold a BMW M135I via Carwow a couple of weeks back and the dealer came over checked the car and paid the price straight into my account. Easy transaction and more money than I was expecting, more than Carlow suggested more than Motorway and more than WBAC. In this market a very positive result. Shows each case is different you cannot make across the board decisions based on one transaction.

Also another contact worth a call is Geoff Wong who is a buyer for Dick Lovett based at Porsche Bristol.
