The first year of Porsche Connect Remote Services for my 718 Cayman expired today. Having had advance warning about this, I'd already re-subscribed some weeks ago via Vodafone's web site. But as of today, the Porsche app is no longer showing remote service information (location, etc.) for my car and is directing me to the Porsche Connect store. In turn that just directs me back to Vodafone Telematics' web site which says my subscription for Remote Services is up and running. As far as I can see, the app should therefore be working normally.

Doea anyone have any clues as to what's gone wrong? Does something else need to happen before these services will work again, and if so, what? Nothing in the handbook or on the Porsche or Vodafone websites, as far as I can see. Suggestions gratefully received; thanks.

It was all pretty mysterious when I first got my latest up and going initially. I had to take the car down to the OPC for some form of “reset” before it could communicate with the app. While not half as hopeless as the version I got in a new 718 in Nov 2021 (which finally communicated with the app in March 2022), I am not expecting too much for September renewal of this one. I’d suggest contacting your OPC, as there seems to be a dearth of online information on the deeper complexities of the Porsche Connect app and Vodafone’s relationship with it.

Thanks Liam; contacting the OPC does seem like the best step. Watch this space...

Interestingly, as of today, the remote services are working again so it seems it was just a glitch which has resolved itself.

Mine went a bit wonky the other morning. A couple of hours later it was back up and running. I suspect Vodaphone's servers were doing an update of some sort but you'd expect them to have a backup one.

Indeed; perhaps it was just a coincidence that it happened immediately after I renewed. As you say, I'd have thought there should be some plan for continuity in effect, though.

Yeah, right! rofl Maybe planned, but so far seldom enacted.

Glad to hear you are up and going again. I’ll be honest, since September I still haven’t figured out how to fully connect my iPhone to the PCM system. Really ought to look that up at some point. Connect remote services working fine though.
