Just in the process of getting back into a GT4 (had an original 981 in Mexico Blue).

Done a deal on this one and was just interested to see if prior owner on here as always nice to know history.

Been watching price come down from £92k since summer and with a price agreed a bit below latest asking has reached by bite point ..

Cheers

I don't know the car, but it looks to be a good specification and keenly priced 👍

If you know the chasis number I'll have a look on PPN and see if there's anything of interest on there regarding it's history.

Yeah went an looked today and the paint isn’t amazing for a ppfd car. Seems it wasn’t prepped all that well before it was applied.

8 hour round trip to check it over just before I paid and …

Who ever had it ppfd did so after a few k miles is ppfd over chips on rear below air scoop (pic 1).

They also forgot to ppf the rear bumper where they are prone to chips and it’s battered (pic 2).

Also under car some of the diffuser trim quite badly scraped.

Also gouges on inner wheels where clearance to caliper so limited.

Been looking at GT4’s also , come to the conclusion that it’s difficult to find a good one, even the 23 plate sub 1k mile cars have had issues that I’ve enquired about.Perhaps my expectations are too high.

Not at all I have had one before and had ppfd and protected from new and when I sold was immaculate in every way. Never tracked etc.

They do exist but from here on in I am only looking at 1 owner (unless flipped) fully protected cars from new.

Will have to be really cheap otherwise and none seem to be shifting. Using the auto trader price tracker many not shifted inn6 months.

I intend to hold out until Jan now in hope the 1 or 2 I’ve seen that are truly immaculate come down.

Best of luck for your search.

And shout out to Scrounger73 really appreciate that print out you sent - top man!!!

I’ve decided to also wait now as whatever I potentially purchase will be garaged until spring anyhow, think half the trouble is the majority of trade sellers wouldn’t know what a good car is ….and I think it’s unfair to be misled on the condition of a car when you’re travelling a fair distance to view.

I think you are totally right on that and your expectations are perfectly reasonable . I spent a couple of weeks looking without much luck and I think the propensity for Track Days by previous Owners is the main issue . I raised this with the OPC and their thoughts were very similar to my own . Is it down to the fact that so many cars are now Leased rather than owned outright ? In the end I got tired of looking and bought a new GTS 4.0 and Im not regretting it thus far .

I think you need to walk away and keep looking , I think there are few places outside an OPC where you would purchase such a vehicle but that's only me

You’re looking a 2 year old car with 3 owners at the bottom end of the pricing market ! If you want a lightly used example you need to look at the nearly new market but the condition will be reflected in the price! But you probably already know this !

Ironically one of the examples I looked at was an OPC who shall remain nameless was the worse prepped car i've seen. Had paint and not very well done. Some OPCs aren't great, some brilliant.

Ive also seen a Miami blue car that was full front end repair at one point (reg came up on co part but was un recorded damage) and was for sale at an OPC.

So due diligence is needed even at OPC.

1st owner was a flipper so did a full 12 miles. But yeah agreed with your general point.

That said 8k miles isnt that well used. My wifes car has done 6k miles and not a mark on it.

With PPF and walk around had hoped for slightly better. Its only paint though and most dealer cars have had paint if they havent been PPFd - these things are road rash magnets on sills and rear.

So been in dialogue this evening with the dealer and deal done. Got a sizeable discount over the advertised price.

Turns out its on stocking finance and has been since summer so that will be part of reason he needs to do deal. Friend in trade tells me that gets real pricey.

That allows me to get the road rash sorted via Porsche approved body shop, wheels sorted (would look lovely in Matte bronze) and have whole car stealth PPfd, extend OPC warranty until nov 2028 and its still £10k cheaper than the same spec PDK car from an OPC.

Also turns out (thanks Dan) it has OPC extended warranty on it at end of new car warranty in Nov 2024 (so till Nov 2025) and Porsche connect paid up to 2031.

Will have OPC 2nd year service (oil and brake fluid) and health check on Tuesday and assuming all good being delivered to me in covered trailer later next week.

Just to bring the thread to a close.

Car went to Porsche Hatfield toda for check over and 2nd year service all good, passed every check.

It’s done 8.5k and confirmed original tyres (rears) have 4.5mm of tread remaining and front 5mm so it’s had an easy life for sure.

Confirmed by PCCB pads front and year all measuring 10mm.

It’s being delivered to me on a covered trailer tomorrow.

Booked for in for paint in Jan (just to make rear bit perfect) then full xpel stealth fitted to give it the matte look.

Thanks again to Dan for the details - he even declined my offer of a crate of beer sent to him in favour of a donation to children in need instead.

Cheers all
