Surrey 987 owner?
Discussion
Hi, I'm considering selling my Caterham and replacing with a 987 Boxster. But before I jump, I want to have a quick run in a 987 (Boxster S, as stock as possible). I could be a timewaster at a dealer but I feel a bit bad doing that....
Anyone in reasonable distance of Reigate in Surrey who wouldn't mind taking me out for a quick spin? Breakfast/coffee on me... :-)

Only down the road in Dorking.
It’s a 987.2 however but slightly modded. You will find the stock suspension rides quite bumpy until you are above 40-50mph, then it’s really locked down.
Won’t be miles off but if you are buying a leggy one, expect some saggy ness. Have to stay on top of coffin arms / other suspension ancillary’s.

I'm not far away, and have a 986S (and a 996 Carrera 2) but not a 987, if those are of any use.
Lots of Porsche meets nearby, such as Legends Drivers Club which usually meets at Westerham - might be worth a visit to chat with a few owners.
They are, of course, very very different to a Caterham, but still pretty analogue compared to anything more modern.

I've had a K-series Supersport for 17 years and recently bought a 2.9 Cayman. Obviously the ride, comfort and space is on a different level and despite being the 'base' model, the low speed performance is very close to the Caterham and much better above 60 mph..Anyone in reasonable distance of Reigate in Surrey who wouldn't mind taking me out for a quick spin? There isn't the same sense of 'theatre' that you get in a Caterham, but on the other hand you don't need to dress up or wear ear-plugs!
I'm about 25 miles south of you and my Cayman isn't exactly what you're looking for, but I'd be happy to take you for a spin if you're still in the market for a Porsche.
