I bought a cayman s 718 last month that doesn’t have the sports exhaust. Is the one from Porsche worth retrofitting (around £2k)? I like the sound now but thought if it’s majorly better I might look into it. I can’t go aftermarket as it’s under warranty

I currently run stock (no PSE) in a base with PDK. Having had loaners with the PSE sports exhaust fitted the main benefit I can see is having a switch to turn it on and off (presume this can be retrofitted). Currently as soon as I put it in sport mode the sound changes and it is quite loud especially with the overrun. If you time the downchange correctly it can sound like a gun shot going off under a bridge. Personally I'd rather have the ability to get the sport gear change map without the theatrics, pre GPF especially these can get louder as the mileage goes on and don't really need a sports exhaust at all in my view. Normal mode is fine and much quieter, but the gear change map is then for fuel saving.

I find the loaners with the sports exhaust switched on just seem to pop and crackle excessively. That said, I did think all 718s started to come with the PSE as standard from 2018? onwards or thereabouts.

Thanks. I always run mine in sports mode due to it sounding much better.

If you're looking for opc to do it I think it'll be near £3k with center consul switch, lot of money for drama, although whatever floats your boat. It will however add some value as I think a car with pse is more desirable than one that doesn't. If it makes you happy and can afford it why not.
