I'm thinking of changing my 1 owner 981 Spyder for a 2016 low mileage 1 owner 991.2 Carrera 4S. Ideally, I'd like to have both but realistically this wouldn't be sensible.

I only cover 3-4k miles a year in the Spyder during high days and holidays and European trips (it's SORN'd during winter) and the 4S would be used similarly as well as perhaps a bit more usage as a 2nd car. I feel I have done everything I want to with the Spyder and fancy a change. But never having driven a 991.2 4S before (although I did own and love a 997C2S) would it be a sensible move from a driving enjoyment and financial viewpoint compared to the Spyder?

I was thinking of doing exactly the same thing… I have a 2016 Spyder and was thinking about combining it and my daily BMW X3M into a 991.2 C4S but ultimately came to the conclusion that I’d really miss the Spyder for those sunny day blasts when it feels so special. I came from a 992.2 C4S and while I loved it the Spyder is in another league for driving enjoyment and I didn’t miss it. In an idea world I’d have a daily C4S and a high day Spyder!

I looked at the grey manual C4S in Fulham which did look very tempting… and fwiw also a manual 991.2 T.

PS - I asked exactly this question on this forum a few months ago:
