718 interior lights

The interior lights on my 718 have stopped opening when you open the door - they still come on if you push both map lights, they just don't come on when you open the doors.

Headlights lights are on auto.

The switch for 'auto lights off' beside the map light is off.

If you open the door with the engine on the PCM tells you the door is open so don't think it's an issue with the door switch.

I'll try to get to a mates with a code reader at some point over the weekend but for now does anyone have any ideas on why this might be? It feels like a setting or a condition not being met, but have gone through the menus on the car and can't see anything, and can't think of anything obvious else it might be.

I think this is a setting you can choose deep within the car's menu. If your car has a memory function then I seem to remember that this is one of the things you can change.

My pcm was a bit weird earlier - it was beeping when you touched the screen which has never been activated before. I'll take another look at that in case something else has randomly changed.

You were right - the manual says it's in the multi function display rather than the pcm but it's vehicle - settings - light and visibility - interior lights - when opening door, but for some reason I'm not getting the option for that.

As if by magic they're working again after a bit of a drive. Wonder if maybe the battery was below a threshold so didn't activate them? Will still try to get a code reader on it but hopefully it was a one off.
