Hi All

My 2003 Boxster has the TRS 4” under drive pulley fitted (not removed the cover bar paperwork confirms it). It was fitted back in 2014.

I am wondering whether I should return the pulley back to factory standard. I don’t intend to track the car and am not worried about possible marginal BHP gains/losses.

It’s recently had an IMS upgrade when a new clutch was installed so assume locking at TDC wasn’t an issue.

I am after longevity with this car as I’d like to keep it off as long as possible. I will be driving a few thousand miles a year max and mainly country roads and weekends away so unlikely to be sat at high RPM for long periods.

My main concern is adequate cooling especially on these engines.

What is the current thinking on the UD pulleys? Remove and back to factory standard or leave as is?

Thanks

edc

It's been in for the best part of 10 years seemi fly without any issues. My car is basically the same. Why remove it?

Thanks for replying and Good question.

I was thinking that likely improved cooling at normal driving rpm from the standard pulley set up would be beneficial given my likely driving scenarios now there is better understanding of the issues with these engines??

Interested in views though.
