I have a 2006 Boxster s 3.2 987 at the moment the boot lid (rear) keeps cycling open, it has a rear light on and the windows seem to be going up and down every now and then. I suspect a module somewhere has failed?

I have made sure the car is dry in the garage and had recently cleaned all rain drains as the front (drunk) had gotten a little damp.

I have put a brand new battery in it

The keys are in a faraday pouch to rule both sets out.

Any idea? I am getting ready to sell the car but obviously need it to be 100%

I'm certainly not a Boxster expert, but I seem to recall there's a control module under the passenger seat (?) that can get damaged if the roof is leaking and the carpets are getting get wet. Might be worth checking?

I too sort of remembered that. I will look up
What it is. Hopefully I can get one from a breakers to try. I wonder if they need to be coded to the car?

The car still starts and the spoiler seems to be stuck in the up position. It went up of its own accord when parked up.

If the control unit is like the front one it will need programming to the chassis number. The Foxwell NT530 tester has facility to do this at about £160

Hi, I had the same issues. It's the body control module under the passenger seat. You need a new one and it needs to be coded to the car.
