Hi all

As above, basically i have found myself to be in not a great situation LOL i have a Bug Eye Impreza WRX that needs an engine and owes me around £5200, and is going to cost around £1800 to sort and will still needs body work afterwards. i had this sold previously for £5k so im hoping that if i repair it i can sell for £5k and be around £2K down

I have however been offered a 1999 Boxster 3.2, Total car check doesnt put it as an "S" but from what i can see all 3.2's were "S's"?

Its a high miler done 151K and they are asking £1K their way, it apparently has a stamp in the book for the IMS being done, which is the only thing i know i know about these that need doing

i know it is going to be Low end of the market, but what would the rough value of this be? and what else should i ask about?

Its not something i particularly want or am looking for but if it gets me something usual i can try to swap or sell on id be happy to do some kind of deal

Thanks!

I think the S was missed off a lot of registrations.

Mine's an S and I've just gone on MOT check and it's simply listed as Porsche Boxster.

Buyers are obsessed with IMS, even though plenty of people in the know consider it a non-issue. But that will be a good feature if you then sell on.

I think I'd be more inclined towards a straight swap at that mileage. I paid £5,150 for mine with 93k up it in May 2021. Mind you, it's in at a local specialist for £2k+ of suspension work later this month and I spent a couple of grand on it as soon as I bought it.

Check out 986 Boxster owners UK on FB for a feel of what they're going for. I wish I'd joined it before I bought mine as opposed to after.
