ASK Amp Issue

Just found the ASK amp has been disconnected on my new to me 987.1. It seems likely that the amp is dead and it has been bypassed, so not much bass.

Any alternatives available to me, another make of amp?

I did the Norway option for my 911 and it was easy and good value, such that it wasnt worth it me to look at aftermarket options.

(I find the midrange sound of the factory setup in my car thin and crap, but not sure if the amp would help much or if its mostly the speakers)
