987 Boxster S - Carnewal GT
Discussion
Hi all,
I have a 2005 Boxster S 3.2, toying with getting the Carnewal GT exhaust modification done.
As some may know Carnewal is based in Belgium and offers a drive in/out service. Many have made the trip over and I'm looking to do the same - drawn in by the road trip opportunity as much as anything!
Difficulty is, I can't find any videos of how it sounds on the 3.2, plenty of videos about on the 3.4 and 2.7 but I'm undecided.
For me the 987 has a beautiful engine and induction note but could do with that bit more from the exhaust for a true sports car sound. That said, I really don't want a noisy unrefined ASBO car! Online there are only good reviews but when I mentioned it to my local specialist, he said I might want to think twice as from what he's seen they are LOUD.
Can any on here offer their views and experiences? Has anyone had this done and regretted it?
Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
I had the Carnewal GT exhaust fitted to my 981 3.4 S last year. I would thoroughly recommend it, perfect balance of a great sound with spirited driving and reasonably quiet when driving sensibly. Gert explained to me that the sound is controlled by your right foot which is 'spot on'!
Yours is a 3.2 but I would not expect it to behave any different. If you do decide to go this route then enjoy as I certainly am it made a world of difference to my car.
Hope this helps.

You won't regret it and if you take the road trip option, you'll love the drive home.
Re sound, the tailpipe choice makes a difference as well. The 987 S tails produce a very pleasant note indeed, where as 981 S tail pipes (an easy to fit alternative and better looking IMHO) produce a deeper and slightly louder note. Gert always used to offer that as an upgrade option while your there.
Regardless, you'll love it.

I had a Carnewal system on my 3.4, great modification and you won’t regret it.
