2011 Black Edition vs 2011 Guards Red
Discussion
Hi there,
I'm looking at potentially buying at 2011 black edition, 50k miles tomorrow.
MOT in October (no advisory), last service 2.5 years ago (negotiated price down to cover cost) but was the full service rather than intermediary and only done 2k miles since. It is the PDK version. It is a private sale.
Anything I should look out for? I have only ever bought from a dealer before.
There is another Boxster I can get from a dealer - in manual, same year, 32k miles - in red (so not limited edition) for 1k more, but it's from a dealer and comes with warranty (6 months).
The benefit of the black edition is it's 6 miles away - the other is much further but they can deliver at a cost.
What do you think? If you had the choice what do you think you would do? Is the black edition (think it has the Spyder engine?) worth the lack of dealership etc?
Advice appreciated!

Not really enough information to give a reliable opinion, but i’d go for the black edition.
I would do a vcheck/car vertical etc before going any further.
Edit:
Is it no 226, if so pretty thin on options but limited edition will always hold a premium.
If the guards one is in shipley, again very thin options, it wouldn’t appeal to me over the black edition

Having had one I too would take the black edition, from memory they do have the Spyder engine it should have the lightweight Spyder alloys and if you’re lucky full leather interior. Mine was a manual I had the DMS ecu remap and fitted an X pipe to the exhaust, it was a rapid little go kart with the precise hydraulic steering and a real howl!
