What track pads are people running in their 981, and do you keep them on for street use?

I've never used anything other than OEM pads, which are pretty poor for track-day use. My theory being they provide a weak point that will save you from putting too much heat into the disks and hubs, so you have a consistent fail-safe. I am also too lazy to swap pads around every 6-8 weeks.

Of course, I could be totally over-cautious here, and maybe a set of RS29s would be great (if not very expensive at £400).

Interested in people's thoughts!

Are you on PCCBs and if so fit Pagid RSC 1s which are the kindest for disc wear.
I upgrade brake fluid to ATE typ200 at the same time.

Which 981?

RS29 is generally the goto option for Steel so you can’t go wrong.

Just a poor man's S model with on steels.

How are the RS29's on the road, or will I want to be swapping back to standard?

They are fine on the road, maybe a little bit of extra squeal when totally cold but few prod to get some temp build and to get contact face working will see them right.

Durable pad, with good performance …firmer than OEM which it feels like you can squash lol!

I fitted Ferodo DS2500's to my Cayman GTS prior to a Spa trackday.

Brakes were mega, hardly any wear and dust wasn't too bad.No brake squeeling either. Easy to clean the wheels as well.

Only downside was a price of circa £200 all in from Demon Tweeks.

Yep also good option i hear. I couldn’t remember the name/product line before.
