planning on removing the front bumper to check if there's any leaves/squirrels nuts/hedgehogs etc hiding in the radiator areas.
Rather than make this a regular occurrence, has anyone tried these and found them successful?
Was thinking of the cheapskate cutting some mesh & siliconing it behind the vents (you can tell I'm an ex TVR owner) but thought these grilles seemed a good, if expensive option.

You've not put a link to what you're suggesting.

I have the Zunsport grilles on my GTS

When I had a Boxster with working (!) air-con, I did this to try and keep it working. I did it the cheapskate way with black plastic mesh and thin tie-wraps. Mine had faded to greyish so I repainted them black at the same time:

Fitted back onto car:

I got Zunsports for my 981 GTS a couple of weeks ago.

I think mine were larger than the ones on their install video, they were a very tight fit. Be careful!

Some one suggested using masking tape on your paintwork to avoid scratching

If you have a facelift 986 save yourself about £90 and just get some black mesh, to snips and a hammer to shape. You will need to remove the bumper anyway.

Looks like that's the way forward as Zunsport don't do the grills for a facelift model

I had the Zunsports on my first early 986but the DIY method on current facelift model as there is no near way to fit over the front.

I tried this but 18/12 later mesh was corroded and paint fading.
At least the Zunsport ones are good quality.

Of course you have to use decent materials in the first place! Mine haven't covered huge miles nor many winters but are perfectly intact nearly 10 years later. My first car I had the Zunsport outers but own mesh centre and no issues with that either.
