I tried renewing on the final day and was sent an email with an activation code that will require my dealer to unlock.

Is it really that stupid? in this day and age?

What service on car connect are you renewing? I renewed the remote services subscription and just got an email saying it was extended.

My nearly one year old 718 is up for renewal some time around now. It took them over 3 months to get the tracker to be able to find the car, including having to leave the car with the OPC for a couple of days while they changed a transponder under one of the seats. Since then, the connection has been intermittent, slow, and occasionally so inaccurate that I worried the car had been stolen while I was away on holiday. The features available nowadays are best described as s€#t in my mind.

Back in the last version of Porsche Car Connect on my first 718 Cayman, it all worked a bit better, but just wasn't worth the money Vodafone charge. Needless to say I had no interest in renewing then, nor do I now. Sorry you've had issues with it.

Dropped the current 718 off at the OPC yesterday, and they asked if I had a tracker fob. They didn't seem to surprised how unimpressed I am with Vodafone and the online tracking services. Still have both fobs in case the next owner wants to set it up...

Just hide an Apple AirTag in the car. Works just as well, if not better, than the Porsche Tracker obviously without the monitoring and insurance requirements.

Not anymore. Due to weirdos using AirTags to stalk people, Apple rolled out firmware updates. Now if an AirTag is found in the vicinity of a phone which doesn’t recognise it, the phone owner is immediately warned they are being tracked by an unidentified AirTag.

I thought the Vodafone issues were fixed.

I’m definitely going to choose an insurance provider that doesn’t need this pos.

It’s the only problem i have with the car………
