GTS and other allocations
Discussion
I've got an order in since March this year and I was told to expect a 2 year wait.
Given all that is going on with the country it maybe that orders start to get cancelled bringing our waits forward.
I thought therefore that it may be useful to have a thread to post confirmed allocations against order dates to see if things start to move up - or at least for those of us waiting to feel ok about it.
If nobody agrees then obviously this will die a death.

Madness. You must all have other lovely motors to keep you going I guess…?
Agreed, and that is what I've always assumed.Nobody's gonna sit on their hands driving a random stbox whilst their new toy takes 18 months to get delivered... Surely?
Seems a pretty consistent wait for a Boxster of something around 2 years with Cayman being possibly a lot less. I will hang on as I intend it to be my last convertible/sports and a keeper while everything goes electric.
My only fear is that they never get build as time goes on and on and new model plans come to fruition. I suppose there's every possibility that at some stage the new Boxster electric gets announced and that's the end of that no more allocations while production is shifted. I can't see that they would delay a new model and all the planning that goes with it just to fill what orders are left.
I'll be interested to see if the wait times start to fall in the coming months as orders get cancelled. The market does seem to have started to turn on the nearly new cars.

To show how things have changed - I ordered my CGTS 4.0 back at the start of Feb 2020 and it was delivered July 2020. That included a delay the whole of the first lockdown from basically March to June but was pre all the global component shortages.
I ordered a BGTS in Oct 20 was told Delivery would be Mar 21 that turned into June 21, will admit my teeth were starting to itch at that point so I have sympathy for people stuck in a much worse situation, i wouldnt even bother trying now I dont think you will get oneNA3pedals said:
