Hi All - Just been quoted £1200 for a first service (minor) on my CGTS 4.0. Feels like an awful lot but maybe i'm just surprised. There must be be a few members on here who have had their first service. What kind of numbers are you getting told?

991.2 GT3 was only £850.

Wouldn't expect to pay more than this on the 718 GT4 service due in a few months.

Negotiate the price the OPC need your business.

Wow. The £1200 came from an out of town OPC whereas I now have £1k quote for a London based OPC. Surely some are trying it on - oh and this excludes brake fluid. I'll keep calling around.

I paid £940 back in 2020 but that include brake fluid change plus one new tyre which had damage on inner wall.

On a 4.0 GTS? Are able to share which part of the country you got that?!

Oops sorry that was on a 2.5. GTS Mid Sussex OPC but don’t see why it should be much different on a 4.0 After all it is basically only an oil change plus some filters. No spark plugs etc.

Mine is going in to my OPC (who I ordered the car through) on 03/08/22 - £900 including a brake fluid change.

I went non OPC, 40% of what you've been quoted. OPC's really are pulling peoples pants down, but I understand why.

Servicing it because you've hit the interval mileage/time wise, or just for peace of mind?

You MAY save a few hundred but clearly lose many £thousands on the residual value on a relatively new Porsche such as the 4.0 GTS we are talking about here with non OPC service history. Also gives warranty claims additional uncertainty and wiggle room. Also makes the car much much harder to sell even at a lower price and most OPCs understandably won't buy non OPC serviced cars.

And just to save a measly few hundred quid.

Been discussed many times before btw.

I was quoted £620 for a non-scheduled oil and filter change on my GTS 4.0. Porsche owned OPC as well.

The main additional cost for a scheduled service is brake fluid.

I have just been quoted £1064 including brake fluid from a Synter dealership so £958 with PCGB discount on my 718GT4. I am sure the same service on my 981GT4 was £600-£700 back in 2018. Has anyone sourced OPC servicing any cheaper than this?

I got £777 including brake fluid change. I supplied the oil.

£10 for screen wash made me smile (or not).

Morning folks

My 4.0 GTS is approaching its first service.

Quotes so far (like-for-like, both including brake fluid):-

Reading = £1,126

Brooklands = £989

Seems the right ballpark given the above messages from last year. Anybody seeing anything drastically different?

Cheers

My notes have £945 as the standard price for the 718 GT4, the GTS will either be the same or slightly cheaper depending on how much under-aero the GTS has that requires removal.

Discounts are available, as av185 points out, and how much will depend on your relationship with the OPC.

Unfortunately, all manufacturers/dealers play this game. My Porsche won't be due a service for another 20 months yet, but I've experienced this with Mercedes and BMW dealers with my previous cars.

I'd love to see the breakdown to these numbers.

Is it because they mark up oil? Or have very high labour rates? Or because they go about everything very slowl, one task followed by the other?

Surely brake fluid change can be done in parallel (in part) while the oil is coming out the sump... which no doubt they do to maximise workshop throughput, but still bill as sequential tasks to the customer.

When I ordered my GTS in November last year, my service guy quoted me £750 for a 2 year service and £450 of just an oil and filter change.

Shop around even if it means you have to drive an hour.
