Another question for 981 GT4 owners, Has anyone had an optimum road set up done on their car as apposed to a track set up, which may be more common?
My car has only done 11,000 road miles so not expecting big replacement bills and I may do the odd track day in the future but it will remain a road car. I am thinking Centre Gravity or RPM Tecknic

Ben at String Theory garage in Stratford is a genius in perfecting car alignment and where I would take it. He's the guy who helps Johnny Cocker of JCR fame set up his cars.

RPM would be fine if they’re close to you

However it’s not really that much of a science as you can’t push on the road - wouldn’t say anything is “optimum” aside from ensuring it’s actually aligned and you feel comfortable driving it

Generally the approach is max caster by standard, toe in a bit, and as much camber as you want for your driving style and the conditions you drive in - probably not more than one degree neg

I'd say max the camber out, you'll only get around -1.5 degress all round with standard parts. I don't see the point in taking it down to -1 degree smile

Thanks for that Guys, I have found in the past with 997s that an operator that knows what they are doing can make a big difference even on "standard settings" so I will have a ring round.

2017. 991.2 C4 Cab
PDK
Ordered lowered by10mm, 20" wheels.

Chris at CG did mine last week.
Over its 5 years the suspension has naturally settled by 10mm.
So the Geo is now ideal for the track but fidgety/ unsettled on A & B roads.
Steering thro corners not pin sharp
Tendency to drift off line.

Today the 1st day the tarmac isnt melting so wacked it into Sport+ on a twisty B road

Steering thro corners is the exact line you thought of on the approach.
The harder suspension setting is now an utter joy as the car soaks up the bumps.
The car is transformed and half a day & 355 quid is feeling cheap.

As someone said "Chris is car Yoda"
