Why does the 718 T have SC as standard yet it’s an option on the 718 S?

I can’t see the logic….

Surely the S is more likely to be used as a track car than the T…?

The T is more or less just an option pack for the base plus a couple of little touches that aren’t available as options. As such It has all of the more ‘enthusiast-focussed’ options, PSE, SC, PTV etc…

Pity they don’t to a T model of the S..

Surprised me that the T had the biggest 20” wheels. I’d have thought the enthusiast, lightweight leaning on this model would suggest the 18”s…

A lot to be said for the base wheels, in my view a lot safer choice on UK pot holed roads. I love the Carrera Classics but kerbing those babies is enough to make a grown man cry.... laugh

Would say a stripped out base is probably the real enthusiast lightweight choice, who needs all that electronic gubbins anyway...

Totally. I’ve got the Carrera classics on my 718. They ride really well - far better than I’d expected - but had I specced the car from new, I’d probably have gone for the 19s…

It’s used by many to increase the resale value…

I have it on my 981 GT4. I quite like watching the hands on the clock in the dash centre set themselves after daylight saving changes. Does that count? I've done track days, and never really seen the need to record lap times, which I presumably could.

A few threads that show alternative uses of it

I wish someone made something that looked good that could replace it and act as a traffic guide that paired to an app.

All of the time in my manual. Why wouldn’t you want the sharper throttle response and dynamic transmission mounts working for you?

I was referring to the little clock and the lap timer function. I’ve never used it.

Isn’t that there just to signal that the owner has the option ticked? If you have to time your own laps, you are only a bit of a nerdy loser, aren’t you…? hehe

Apps do it better I suspect anyway.

I linked you to alternate uses of the clock above.
